Experience the tranquil beauty of Maremma, Tuscany, on a relaxing food and wine trip designed to immerse you in the region's rich culinary heritage. This journey will take you through rolling hills, scenic coastlines, and charming villages, all while indulging in the finest local wines and traditional dishes.
Your adventure begins at an exotic resort located next to Italy’s first WWF (World Wildlife Fund) Oasis located right on the Tuscan coast of Maremma. This resort is right on the Tyrrhenian sea, with it’s own private beach club and heated pool. Our time here will include immersing in location traditions including exploring ancient cities, olive oil tasting and even meeting real Tuscan cowboys known as the Butteri! Yee-haw!
After a few nights at sea level, we will journey north to with a short diversion to have a special tasting of Brunello di Montalcino. After our special lunch, we will go to our final homebase: Poggio ai Santi. This resort is run by a beautiful family who excels in hospitality, much like our friends at Fattoria Lavacchio. With a location that has an amazing view of the sea from up high - you can even see the Island of Elba on a clear day!

Day 1
Arrive in southern Maremma, near Capalbio, a charming medieval town nestled between hills and sea. Explore the property Terre di Sacra where you will stay for the first three/four nights on a wildlife oasis on the coast, steps away from the sea. Dinner will be held at the estate, featuring a fun BBQ with local meats for a delightful first taste of the region.
Day 2
After farm fresh breakfast, we meet the Butteri, the last Italian cowboys, who will showcase their ancestral cattle-handling skills.
Lunch will be back on the beach, La dolce vita.
In the afternoon, after some free time, we will offer an in-depth olive oil tasting with dinner.
Day 3
Head to Pitigliano, known as “Little Jerusalem”, a stunning village built on tufa rock, famous for its narrow streets and unique rock-carved architecture. With a passionate local guide, discover its rich history and authentic atmosphere.
Lunch will be enjoyed in an authentic trattoria in the heart of the village.
The afternoon is dedicated to relaxation and free time, to enjoy the property, the pool or simply slow down. Farewell dinner to conclude our stay at Terra di Sacra.

Day 4
Free day! Go exactly at the pace you’d like. Wake up late, grab a beach chair and a spritz and take in the rays along the sea. Or are you interested in making the most of your trip? Sign up for an extra activity like horseback riding along the sand dunes, rent a bike and pack a picnic and ride along the scenic World Wildlife Foundation preservation - or we can set you up with a bird watching expert of WWF to see the flamingos and other flora & fauna of this unique area. The concierge can also set you up with a car to take you to Saturnia - Italys famous hot springs. This is a day for you and only you!
Day 5
Today, we leave Southern Maremma behind and journey north. Along the way, we take a slight detour to discover Castello di Argiano, a historic fortress built in 1200 that overlooks the Orcia Valley and is part of a network of defensive castles in Tuscany. Once an Etruscan-Roman site, it preserves an extraordinary medieval heritage. Since 1975, the Sesti estate has been producing exceptional wines, guided by lunar cycles and a deep respect for the terroir. Today, Elisa Sesti continues this tradition with iconic wines such as Brunello di Montalcino.
After this timeless experience, we will continue our journey to Poggio ai Santi, a truly special place, where we will settle in for the next four nights. In the evening we will meet Francesca, the owner of Poggio ai Santi, who will share her story and vision for this unique place. Together, we will take a stroll through the botanical garden, where she will introduce us to the fascinating topic of education in health through nutrition.
Dinner will be held at the estate.
Day 6
The morning will be dedicated to relaxation and free time, allowing everyone to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Poggio ai Santi at their own rhythm, whether by the pool, in the gardens or simply taking time to slow down.
Lunch will be enjoyed at Poggio ai Santi, offering a moment to fully embrace the spirit and philosophy of the estate.
In the afternoon, we head to Populonia, a charming medieval village overlooking the sea. We will explore its castle and enjoy breathtaking views over the Tyrrhenian coast and the Gulf of Baratti.
The day continues on the beach of Baratti, where we will enjoy an aperitif followed by dinner, feet in the sand, in a relaxed and authentic seaside atmosphere.
Populonia
Day 7
After farm fresh breakfast, we travel to Bolgheri, renowned for its world-class wines and picturesque cypress-lined roads. We will visit a small family-owned winery Fattoria Chiappini, nestled among some of the most prestigious estates in the region, for an intimate and authentic tasting experience.
Leaving the vineyards behind, we head inland to a charming historic village, where we will enjoy lunch in the authentic Osteria magona. A true escape from time, this hidden gem offers a glimpse into the soul of traditional Tuscan hospitality, where simple, high-quality ingredients and timeless recipes create a meal to be savored slowly.
The day concludes with free time back at the resort where you’re welcome to make a reservation with your loved one at their restaurant at your leisure, or simply have small plates and cocktails at their bar after our big day!
Day 8
Our last full day, the morning is yours to enjoy at your own pace. You will have the opportunity to personalize your experience by choosing from a selection of activities, whether it's a relaxing massage, a scenic trek, or an e-bike ride through the stunning landscapes of the region. You may also choose to unwind at the beach, where a reserved area awaits you. Whatever you choose, the experience will be followed by a delightful lunch, allowing you to savor the moment before the afternoon’s activities.
Later, take time to unwind at the property before joining a workshop on the art of crafting your own signature cocktail.
The day concludes with a farewell dinner at Bar Sale8, celebrating a week full of discoveries, flavors, and unforgettable moments.
